  4. ST-QWK:  offline mail door by: A+ Software

  9. When entering the door you will be presented with a menu.
  10. The four options are:
  11.  
  12. [D]  'D'ownload QWK packet
  13.  
  14.      Are you ready to 'D'ownload your QWK packet?  First, ST-QWK will
  15.      create your CONTROL.DAT and DOOR.ID files needed by your reader.  It
  16.      will then ask you for the compression method, which for now includes
  17.      Zip, Arc, & Lzh.  (Note: most of these options are hot-keyed).  Then
  18.      it will ask you for the maximum number of message per base to scan.
  19.      Type in a number or hit [Enter] for all.  It will then ask if you wish
  20.      to scan only messages to you.  Typing 'Y' will only send messages to
  21.      you, and your High Message Reads WILL NOT be updated.  That way, you
  22.      may go back and scan the other messages in the base manually via
  23.      FidoDoor, or download a complete QWK later.  Hitting 'N' will send all
  24.      messages that you have not read, up to the maximum number that you
  25.      specified.  After answering this prompt, ST-QWK will proceed to
  26.      analyze the messages and store them in the MESSAGES.DAT file.
  27.      Everytime it finds a message base that you have marked for scan, (and
  28.      provided you have read access to it) it will print a status report on
  29.      that conference after scanning it.  If there no new messages, it will
  30.      not print anything.  After it scans all the bases, the archiver you
  31.      selected will be called up, and will pack everything into the .QWK
  32.      file.  You will be asked for your preferred transfer protocol, and XYZ
  33.      will be called with the proper parameters.  After the transfer, the
  34.      program will end and return to the BBS.

  36. [U]  'U'pload REP packet
  37.  
  38.      Ready to upload a REPly?  Select the 'U'pload REP option.  ST-QWK
  39.      will ask you for the transfer protocol and execute XYZ to receive the
  40.      REP packet.  The program is capable of detecting the type of archive,
  41.      and calling the appropriate extraction routine.  If it can't deter-
  42.      mine the archive type, the process will be halted, and an error logged
  43.      to the screen and logfile.  It will recognize the following archive
  44.      methods: ARC, LZH, ZIP & ARJ.  The messages will be imported, and a
  45.      report returned.  When completed, you will be returned to the BBS.

  47. [C] 'C'onfigure scan settings
  48.      ST-QWK uses the scan settings that are in FidoDoor, and can be
  49.      configured from either program.  FidoDoor, by default, turns all the
  50.      scan settings on; you NEED to set your scan settings before attempting
  51.      a download.  The Configure section goes through each message base one
  52.      by one, displaying the Conference name and status of the scan setting
  53.      (on or off).  You have four options to use, Yes, No, Quit and [Enter].
  54.      Hitting 'Y' will turn the base on, 'N' will turn it off, 'Q'uit will
  55.      exit the routine, saving your progress to that point, and hitting the
  56.      [Enter] key, will skip to the next conference without modifying the
  57.      settings of that base.

  59. [Q] 'Q'uit.  The Quit option should be pretty self explanatory.
